i will see you later.
A downloadable game
a micro-game about letting go when the grief seems to cling to you so.
my entry to the 36-word rpg jam is this business card game consisting of exactly 35 words, with the last one to be provided by you.
i wrote this because i lost my grandfather recently and only today did i begin feeling like a person again. i've never felt loss like this before, nor have i ever designed a serious game before. perhaps this is a step towards healing. i intend on actually printing this as a two-sided business card and encourage you to do so as well if you wish.
the title 'i will see you later' was chosen because those are the last words i ever spoke to him.
the entire game in full:
我爱你爷爷.

This is so powerful! I love how elegant this is, and how the act of actually giving the card is a physical form of the release in addition to letting go verbally. I also appreciate that you specify a consenting person, so you don't just trauma-dump on someone. And the card is so well made, too. Well done!
PS: I didn't know that about odd numbers until I saw your comment!
So here's a third paragraph to keep this odd, too!
- ✨Elizabeth (I usually go by Beth but Elizabeth is an odd number of letters so that works out!)
thank you so much 🥺💖 this means so much to me!!
You're so very welcome Nala :D
this game is free via community copies, but if you choose to send a tip/pay for this game, please only send odd numbers (Chinese superstition around receiving money wrt death; we believe that good/auspicious things come in pairs, and bad things come alone. An odd number symbolizes our wish/hope that the death remains as one, and is not soon followed by a second), thank you <3
